Cool Looking forward to it.  I used to hear about Kokoda, etc from my mates in Oz.

Thank goodness we have DD2 version in the download section.  Very Happy  That was another one of my games that got left behind.   Sad

Now we need an Australian voice pack.   Smile

Plus don't forget British/Australian weapons like the SMLE No. 1 Mk III, Bren gun, Mills Bomb, AUSTEN (Australian Sten) or Owen Gun, Enfield or Webley revolvers, and the Enfield Pattern 14 as a sniper rifle.

A shame the uniforms are all sort of hardwired to the individual soldiers.  Sad  I guess within the limitations it added individually though I admit I hated the ones with tank tops.  Hidden and Dangerous II released the following year (2003) added a couple Burma missions which included tropical green battle dress with slouch hats.  That would have been perfect for this map.

Yes, a shame the weapons are coded into each soldier.
Perhaps in a conversion i can get some of those mentioned.
I think we have a few of them already in TW.
The voice pack is a lot harder Smile

Weapons coded into the soldier?  That is too bad.  Sad

Yep, I used the Brit weapon pack with the "Bridge over River Kwai" map in TW a two or three months ago.  Smile

Too bad, I don't live in Oz anymore.  Get the old college mates together and have one crazy recording session.  Laughing

Laughing That would be great. The map is finished and uploaded to Downloads DD2-MAPS Page 9

A fun map with thick jungle. It plays havoc with my graphics for some reason, make things flash on and off at times but a very exiting map, lots of tension and lots of Japs  Laughing
Havn't managed to complete it yet  Mad They keep getting me but i have learned to lie flat and hide in bushes, trouble is it won't work like that in TW Laughing
--------------------------------------------------------
The Kokoda track, swarming with japs and thick jungle with few open spaces. Ideal for an ambush. Clear the track and destroy anything you can that would help the Japanese soldier.
Papua New Guinea can be a hotbed of danger so be very careful.
Hope to see you back in port moresby very soon.

Downloaded. Still don't know why I experience lag on the selection screen; but the important thing is I am able to pick my own team and kit.  Very Happy

Interesting team choice.  Smile  I basically have the same team (Egan, Madison, & De Los Santos); but pick my brah from Honolulu (Takahashi) over the Corpsman Boyle. I see Boyle's lackluster infiltration rating (55) as a liability.  Only Le Jeune's rating is worse at 35, and Mickey matches the 55.  With Tak on the team ... all four have a Infiltration skill of 100.  Very Happy

In this environment I also prefer rifles over carbines or machine guns. Better to take them out further out if possible.  Madison & De Los Santos have a rifle skill of 100 and Tak clocks in at 95 (Boyle has 85).  Plus, Egan & De Los Santo's med rating of 95 nearly match Boyle's 100.  Egan only has a 65 rifle skill; but I use him as my primary sniper.  In fact, these four are the top four snipers in the game.

I considered Fisk with an infiltration of 95 because of the demo jobs; but his rifle skill (65) isn't great as his forte is the carbine (85).  I am therefore relying on Egan's 75 demo.  I hope it doesn't bite me later on.

Anyway, going low and slow has worked for me so far and I have just cleared out the second camp.  Very Happy

Unfortunately, I still suffer bad lag issues even with DD2 Modded (my DD2 CD is back in Hawai'i).  Crying or Very sad  The lag stops if I change the view distance to Low; but I then risk coming under fire without being able to see who is shooting at me.  How rude.  I am also suffering from some bad graphic pop-in.  I sometimes have to advance into a graphic before it changes from a grey to its coloured state.  Even weirder is that I can look back at the tile I was just on and it has turned to grey.  Confused  Really strange seeing my teammates or dead bodies "floating" in space.  Laughing
